Meet Dr. Ricky L. Farmer of Lake Pointe Dental Care
Dr. Farmer earned his doctorate in dental medicine from the prestigious University of Louisville School of Dentistry in 2003. While attending the University, Dr. Farmer was named a Dean’s Scholar for his high levels of academic and clinical achievements.
Prior to attending the University of Louisville, Dr. Farmer received his undergraduate degree in Biology and Chemistry from Lindsey Wilson College (Columbia, Ky). The college named Dr. Farmer a Begley Scholar, the institution’s highest academic award, in 1998.
With a commitment to delivering the highest level of contemporary, comprehensive and compassionate dental care, Dr. Farmer established his own practice in Somerset in 2003. Dedicated to staying current and proficient with leading edge dentistry, he has incorporated some of the most advanced dental technology and techniques into his practice, and participates regularly in continuing education and advanced training courses throughout the country.
His passion and dedication in dentistry has been recognized both locally and nationally. Dr. Farmer has been named the region’s Best Dentist by the Commonwealth Journal Reader’s Choice Awards each year since its inception (2005-present). The Consumer’s Research Council of America has listed Dr. Farmer as one of “America’s Top Dentists” in each of the last four years. In 2008, Dr. Farmer was awarded with a Diamond Award for Excellence in Patient Care by the Scottsdale Center for Dentistry (the nation's premiere facility for advanced dental education and training). Most recently, Dr. Farmer was named as one of the state's "Top Dentists" (a distinction nominated and voted upon by other dentists), and was in a featured listing in Kentucky Monthly Magazine. Dr. Farmer is an avid cyclist, runner and competitive triathlete, and enjoys spending time outside the office with his wonderful family. He and his wife Kellie (pictured left) have two small children, Anna and Chase. His family is very active in the local community and faithfully attends East Somerset Baptist Church.
