Administrative Team

Leanne — Office Manager

Leanne — Office ManagerLeanne is our office manager and has been with our team from day one. She brings over thirty years of experience and a wealth of knowledge to our practice. Her knowledge of general dentistry, as well as orthodontics, allows her to give our patients the highest level of service whether it is working with insurance companies, going over treatment plans/options or when needed referring patients to a specialist. Leanne is always willing to go the extra mile to help patients maximize their insurance benefits and have a clear understanding of the financial aspects of their treatment. When away from the office she enjoys spending time with her family.

Tasha — Patient Care Coordinator

Tasha — Patient Care CoordinatorTasha has been a dedicated Patient Coordinator at our dental office since March 2023, bringing over 20 years of customer service experience to her role. With a strong background in communication and organization, she ensures every patient feels welcome and well taken care of from the moment they walk through the door. Tasha holds an Associate’s Degree in Science and has a genuine passion for helping people.

Outside of work, Tasha enjoys spending quality time with her family, going camping, and making memories with her husband and three kids. Her warm personality and commitment to care make her an invaluable part of our team.

Tarah — Patient Care Coordinator

Tarah — Patient Care CoordinatorTarah joined our Lake Pointe Dental Care team in November 2024. Originally from Somerset, Ky, Tarah brings a unique blend of compassion, professionalism, and diverse experience to her role as Patient Coordinator. With over 20 years of finance experience in the entertainment industry and a degree in Applied Science, she combines her analytical skills with a deep passion for people-focused service.

When away from work, Tarah loves to travel and spend time with her family and friends. She is a film enthusiast and huge animal lover.

Rhonda — Patient Care Coordinator

Rhonda — Patient Care CoordinatorRhonda joined the Lake Pointe Dental Care team in March of 2012, bringing over 12 years of experience in the dental field to our practice. Rhonda has received extensive training and advanced education from The University of Kentucky School of Dentistry, gaining her certification as an Expanded Duties Dental Assistant in 2005. Her knowledge and experience as an assistant have enabled her to better serve our patients in her role as Patient Care Coordinator, as she enjoys the one-on-one interactions of reviewing treatment plans, scheduling appointments, and answering any of your dental questions. In her free time, she values spending time with her husband, children, and grandchildren.

Laura — Admin Assistant & Front Desk Coordinator

Laura — Admin Assistant & Front Desk Coordinator
Laura is an Administrative Assistant and Front Desk Coordinator here at Lake pointe dental care where she has been greeting patients and keeping operations running smoothly since February 2025. With years of customer service experience and studies toward an Associate in Science and Arts, Laura brings efficiency to every interaction. both professionalism and a personal touch to her role. Outside of work, she loves spending time with her kids and proudly embraces life as a dedicated sports mom, always cheering from the sidelines.

Anna — Receptionist & Assistant

Anna — Receptionist & AssistantAnna, the daughter of Dr. Farmer, joined our team in 2020. She is currently pursuing a degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Psychology at the University of Kentucky. During the summer and college breaks, Anna serves as both a receptionist and an assistant in our office. Her responsibilities include answering patient inquiries, scheduling appointments for both dental and aesthetic services, and maintaining strict sterilization protocols to ensure all instruments are clean, sanitized, and ready for patient care.

Kristy — Expanded Duties Dental Assistant

Kristy — Expanded Duties Dental AssistantKristy has been serving patients as an Expanded Duties Dental Assistant since 2006 and joined the Lake Pointe Dental team in April 2024. With extensive experience in both clinical procedures and front-office patient care, she brings skill, warmth, and professionalism to every appointment.
She earned her EDDA and X-ray certification from Lexington Dental Academy, continued her education at the University of Kentucky with a coronal polishing certification, and in 2010, specialized in Lumineers training in Atlanta, Georgia. Kristy’s favorite treatments include cosmetic restorations, and she has a special talent for working with children to ensure a comfortable and positive dental experience.

Outside of the office, Kristy enjoys spending time with family and friends and horseback riding.

Chelsea — Expanded Duties Dental Assistant

Chelsea — Expanded Duties Dental AssistantChelsea joined Lake Pointe Dental Care in 2024. She moved from Baton Rouge, LA and happy to call Somerset her home. She brings with her 15 years experience in the medical field and 6 years experience as an EDDA. Enjoys providing education and treatment in oral care and health. Getting to know patients on a personal level is an added bonus. Outside of work, she enjoys family, friends, dogs, fitness, and KY Wildcats. “I love my Lake Pointe family.”

Abby — Expanded Duties Dental Assistant

Abby — Expanded Duties Dental AssistantAbby joined Lake Pointe Dental Care on September 7th, 2018 with five years of prior medical office experience, quickly becoming a vital member of the team. She earned her dental radiology certification from the University of Kentucky in 2018, followed by certifications in Expanded Duties Dental Assisting and coronal polishing from the University of Louisville in 2019.

In her leadership role within the clinical team, she oversees Invisalign cases, manages office inventory, coordinates all clinical supplies, and supports both the front and back office to help ensure a smooth and positive patient experience. She especially enjoys assisting with CEREC crowns, surgical implant placements, and extractions.

From 2007 to 2014, she lived in Belize where she taught and ministered to families in a small Spanish-speaking village. This life-changing experience instilled in her a Christ-like compassion that continues to shape the care she provides each day.

She is known for her strong work ethic and commitment to excellence. She leads by example and takes pride in being part of a team where patient care always comes first.

Elizabeth — Expanded Duties Dental Assistant | CDHC | Future Dental Hygienist

Elizabeth — Expanded Duties Dental Assistant | CDHC | Future Dental HygienistElizabeth Perry is a skilled dental assistant with over seven years of hands-on experience in clinical dentistry. A proud United States Navy veteran, Elizabeth brings a strong work ethic, precision, and professionalism to her role in patient care.

She is also a certified Community Dental Health Coordinator, a credential that has enhanced her understanding of patient education, care coordination, and the importance of oral health prevention. This additional training supports her commitment to helping patients feel informed, comfortable, and confident in their dental treatment.

Elizabeth is currently advancing her career by pursuing a degree in Dental Hygiene and is expected to graduate in May 2026. With a strong foundation in dental assisting and a passion for continued learning, she is focused on delivering excellent care while growing into her future role as a dental hygienist.

Shanon — Expanded Duties Dental Assistant

Shanon — Expanded Duties Dental AssistantShanon joined our practice July of 2019. She has been in the dental field 30+ years. She has been an Expanded Function Dental Assistant, EFDA since 2004. She enjoys providing patients with the care they need. Shanon and her husband are from Columbus, Ohio. They enjoyed visiting Lake Cumberland so much every year, they decided to make the Somerset area their home.

Dental Hygienists

Kelsey — Hygienist

Kelsey — HygienistKelsey has been with Lake Pointe Dental Care since 2023. She prides herself on her gentle approach and dedication to educating patients on their oral health. Building strong relationships with those she cares for is her favorite part of being a dental hygienist. When she’s not working, Kelsey loves to immerse herself in nature and spend quality time with her animals.

Bridgett — Hygienist

Bridgett — HygienistBridgett joined Lake Pointe Dental Care in 2009 after graduating dental hygiene school.

Bridgett is a member of ADHA on the national level and KYDHA on the state level. Bridgett served on the state board from 2009 to 2024 and is a past president of the KYDHA. Bridgett was selected Hygienist of the Year in 2019 by the state.

Bridgett is certified to deliver anesthesia and to use a laser for bacterial reduction for certain dental procedures.

Bridgett is passionate about her profession and strives to provide the upmost quality of care to her patients. Bridgett seeks to have patients feel comfortable and relaxed during procedures so that a patient can overcome their dental anxiety. ” I love interacting with patients and educating them on oral health so they feel confident about their smile”.

Outside of work she enjoys spending quality time with her family and friends.

Liz — Hygienist

Liz — HygienistLiz joined our team in 2021. She graduated from Northern Kentucky University in 1997 with a Bachelor of Science in Marketing and Business Management. After ten years of Sales experience, Liz went to Florida State College at Jacksonville and earned her Associates in Dental Hygiene, graduating in 2013. She currently holds an active license in the states of Kentucky and Florida, and is proud to be back practicing in her home state.

Liz is a people person, and while she enjoyed her sales career, she feels that she is able to play a bigger part in helping others by being a dental hygienist.

April — Hygienist

April — HygienistApril joined our dental team in 2017. She brings with her over 17 years of experience in hygiene as a Registered Dental Hygienist. April strives to continually improve her craft and stay up-to-date with the most current dentistry practices. She says helping patients to overcome their anxieties with dental procedures and developing relationships with her patients are the most rewarding aspects of her career.

Karen — Hygienist

Karen — HygienistKaren received her degree in Dental Hygiene from the University of Kentucky in 1983. She is a Kentucky native who calls Lexington home, but we are happy to welcome her back to Somerset, a community she has served for 30 years!

Karen is passionate about her job and enjoys providing her patients with expert care for optimal oral health. Her favorite aspect of being a Dental Hygienist is being able to maintain long-term, meaningful relationships with her patients, and she is looking forward to caring for the wonderful people in our area again. When not at work, she loves traveling and spending time with her family.

Mikki — Hygienist

Mikki — HygienistMikki joined the Lake Pointe team in 2020. After graduating from Somerset High School she attended Cumberland College and graduated from LCC and The University of Ky in 2001. Mikki has spent the last 22 years practicing dental hygiene in Lexington and here in Somerset. Being certified in Laser therapy and anesthesia has helped her to provide optimal care to her patients.

I love encouraging my patients to set high standards for their oral health and helping them achieve those goals. Nothing is more satisfying than seeing our patients with a beautiful, healthy smile on their face.”

When she isn’t working, Mikki enjoys the beach, being outdoors, and spending time with her family and friends.

Office dogsDodger and Breck, Dr. Farmer’s beloved pets and our unofficial “office dogs,” can be found behind the front desk each day. With their friendly personalities and calming presence, they are always ready to greet patients and bring a little extra warmth and comfort to every visit. Dodger and Breck help each trip to the dentist a more positive and relaxed experience.
